The villas
I just got back from a long weekend holiday in Manila, where our family went on a summer outing.

My sister was in charge of looking for a resort, and she found one in Batangas - Valentino Resort and Spa.

How to Get There

Take South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) until the end exit which is Calamba.
Drive straight towards the SLEX-STAR connector highway
Enter Southern Tagalog Arterial Rd (STAR) highway and take Lipa exit
Make a left at President J.P. Laurel Highway
After 3.5km make a right at Banaybanay-Mojon-Cuenca Road
In 3km, you should be able to see the sign of Valentino Resort and Spa on your left.

Check-in was at 2pm and we were just in time when we arrived at the resort. After paying our balance and placing a security deposit of 2,000 pesos, refundable upon checkout, we were directed by the hotel staff to our villa. Kudos to their helpful and friendly staff.

Check-out is at 12 noon, but we decided to leave early since we wanted to pass by Tagaytay before going home. Upon check-out, we surrendered the keys to the two villas, and after they checked the rooms we were given back our security deposit and a gate pass.

Since there was eight of us, we got two villas (Modern and Italian) which can accommodate four pax each at PhP4,650/night/each.

The villas were spacious enough. Each has a sala set, dining area, bedroom, toilet and a balcony overlooking one of the pools. However, there was no fridge.

My only complaint was that the rooms and toilet area were due for some major makeovers. From what I have heard, the resort is already nine years old. It’s just sad that they haven’t maintained the rooms as there is so much potential for the resort.

The resort does not allow cooking within its vicinity, but they will allow you to bring cooked food, which is what we did.

Pools and Surrounding Area

We were able to see four pools around the resort, one was very close to our villa.

The pools’ water temperature is just right, not too warm nor too cold. The ambiance is very close to nature as the resort is surrounded by trees and flowers.

There is also a hanging bridge which you may take from the villa on the way to the pool area.

I would recommend this place for the pools, but for the rooms, you have better choices elsewhere.
